Kenneth Grange , CBE (born July 17, 1929 in London ) is a British industrial designer .

Life

Kenneth Grange studied at the School of Arts and Crafts and then worked as a draftsman for the Royal Engineers . In the 1950s he became the assistant to the architect Jack Howe and in 1958 he founded his first company, Kenneth Grange Design Ltd. From 1972 to 1992 he was a partner in the design consultancy Pentagram , which he co-founded , which designed packaging and products for companies such as Tesco , Boots, 3Com , Swatch , Tiffany & Co , Dell , Netgear , Nike and Timex . Grange also designed Wilkinson Sword razors, cameras for Kodak , Ronson lighters, the Anglepoise Lamp Type 3 and Type 75 desk lamps from 2003/04, Parker writing implements and the exterior design of the English InterCity 125 train. Many of these products have become product design classics . In 2007 he was a member of the jury for the red dot design award: product design .

In 1984 he was appointed Commander of the British Empire .
