Kenneth Gustavsson (born September 15, 1983 ) is a Swedish football player . The defender managed with GAIS the march from the third division to the Allsvenskan .

Career

Gustavsson played for IFK Hindås in his youth . In 2002 he moved to GAIS in the third division 2. As a young supplementary player, he made it to the Superettan in 2003 with the team . In the second division season in 2004 he was able to establish himself as a regular under the new coach Roland Nilsson and was used in 28 of the 30 season games. After two years in the second division, the team qualified third in the table for the relegation games against Landskrona BoIS . With a 2-1 win and a 0-0 draw, Gustavsson rose with the club in the Allsvenskan .

Due to a bone infection in his leg that had to be treated by specialists in the United States , Gustavsson was rarely used in his first first division season. After his return to the football field, he was able to establish himself again as a regular player and missed only one of the 26 season games in the 2007 season. In the 3-1 win over Trelleborgs FF in July of that year, he was also able to enter the scorers list for the first time in the Swedish elite series when he converted a free kick to the 2-0 intermediate result.

In parallel to his football career, Gustavsson completed a degree in economics at the Chalmers Technical University in Gothenburg.
