The Kerbrandige Napfbecherling or Cup-shaped Elf Cup ( Tarzetta cupularis ) is a mushroom from the family of Pyronemataceae.
features
Macroscopic features
The notch-edged bowl cup forms deep bowl-shaped fruiting bodies with a short, rounded stem that sticks in the ground. The cups are 1 to 2 cm wide and pale to gray beige in all parts. The outside is clearly sticky. The consistency of the fruit body is brittle and at the same time quite elastic. The smell and taste are insignificant, but not unpleasant. The crucible-shaped bowl cup ( Tarzetta catinus ) is similar, but with up to 5 cm significantly larger and with a more bowl-shaped habit.
Microscopic features
The spores are smooth, hyaline , elliptical and 19 to 21 × 10.5 to 13 μm in size and have 2 distinct oil drops. The asci are cylindrical and are 280 to 330 × 11 to 14 μm in size. The paraphyses are often forked but straight.
ecology
The notch-edged bowl cup grows saprobion table on loamy and sandy soils, preferably in forests and parks. Its fruiting bodies appear under trees, bushes and herbs, mostly on bare earth. It forms fruiting bodies in spring and again in autumn. It is not uncommon in Central Europe and can also be found in North America.
