Keren Ann
Keren Ann Zeidel (born March 10, 1974 in Caesarea , Israel ) is a Dutch - Israeli singer, composer, guitarist and music producer . Since 2007 she has performed under the stage name Keren Ann .
Career
Zeidel is the daughter of a Russian-Jewish father and a Dutch-Javanese mother. She lived in the Netherlands until the age of eleven and then grew up in Paris . She has Dutch and Israeli citizenship . Zeidel now lives in Paris with her daughter, who was born in 2013. She also resides in Tel Aviv , New York and the Netherlands. She is fluent in French, English and Hebrew .
In 1998 Zeidel played in the band Shelby. In 2000 she began a solo career with her debut album La biography de Luka Philipsen , which she wrote with Benjamin Biolay . In the same year they also wrote the album Chambre avec vue for Henri Salvador , who won two Victoires de la Musique with it .
The song Lay Your Head Down from the 2007 album Keren Ann was used in a TV commercial for the clothing brand H&M . Her song Not Going Anywhere was featured on the television series Grey's Anatomy .
On July 8, 2016, Zeidel performed in Germany at the Rudolstadt Festival in a trio with bassist Pierre Dubost and drummer Mathieu Gayout .
