Kerstin Kircheis
Kerstin Kircheis , b. Reum (born December 19, 1955 in Bernsdorf) is a German politician ( SPD ). With a brief interruption, she was a member of the Brandenburg State Parliament between 2006 and 2019 .
Life and work
After finishing school, Kerstin Kircheis completed vocational training as a skilled worker for data processing from 1972 to 1974. She then worked from 1974 to 1991 as a technologist at the data center of the Deutsche Reichsbahn . During this time she also completed a degree in information processing at the engineering school for electronics and information processing in Görlitz (1978 to 1982) with a degree in engineering (FH). From 1991 to November 2006 she was employed as a customer advisor at the BAHN company health insurance fund and during this time did vocational training as a social security clerk at the Federal Insurance Office (2000 to 2002).
She lives in Cottbus , is widowed and has two children.
politics
From 1985 to 1999 Kircheis was a member of the SED and later the PDS . She has been a member of the SPD since 2002. In terms of local politics, she took on the role of city councilor in Cottbus from December 1993 to February 1997 (as a PDS member) and since November 2003 as an SPD member .
She moved into the Brandenburg state parliament on November 30, 2006 as a replacement for the resigned MP Frank Szymanski and represented the Cottbus II constituency there until the end of the legislative period in 2009 . For her group she was a member of the Committee on Rural Development, Environment and Consumer Protection and the Petitions Committee . In the state elections in 2009 , she initially missed re-entry into the state parliament, but was able to move up again after Tina Fischer resigned from her mandate . She was spokeswoman for her group for Sorbian / Wendish affairs and transport policy.
In addition to her partisan work, she is a member of the special purpose association assembly of the Sparkasse Spree-Neisse . She is volunteer as chairwoman of the tenants' association Cottbus Guben und Umgebung e. V. and as deputy chairwoman of the AWO Cottbus .
