The Keslar GmbH Energy Trading operates a energy trading and petroleum business connected with complementary services. Specifically, this relates to trading in energy products in the heating market (heating oil, wood pellets , natural gas , electricity and liquid gas ) as well as fuels and lubricants. The services include, for example, the provision of tank systems on loan and storage room cleaning for pellet systems. With branches in Ulm , Kaufbeuren , Hergensweiler and Riezlern (Kleinwalsertal) and a sales agency in Crimmitschau, the company looks after around 30,000 customers from the areas of private end users, trade, industry and trade. The company also operates ten automatic petrol stations under the AVIA ( Avia International ) brand .

history

Christine Keslar-Tunder, the daughter of Hans Keslar, founded a GmbH in 1996 and acquired the established ESSO representative JJ PROBST with a tank farm in Kaufbeuren and a branch in Kempten (Allgäu) with a start-up loan . Hans Keslar, who started as an apprentice in the mineral oil industry in 1947 and has meanwhile become a successful individual entrepreneur as an AVIA licensee with a mineral oil and gas station business, helps her to further develop the ESSO business. After seven years of using the original company name JJ PROBST, the name was changed in 2003 to KESLAR GmbH, Mineralölhandel. The contract as an authorized ESSO and mobile partner was also continued. On September 1, 2003, the Shell branch in Kempten was integrated. In 2007 the ESSO refinery in Ingolstadt was sold to an international refinery operator. In this context, all ESSO sales contracts in Bavaria were terminated. The KESLAR company decided to become a partner in Deutsche AVIA GmbH on January 1, 2008. The structures of AVIA are medium-sized and the bundling of strengths of 26 shareholders brings the company and customers many advantages. Hans Keslar sold his gas station business and dissolved the sole proprietorship Hans Keslar eK at the end of 2008 in order to take this first step into well-deserved retirement .

The KESLAR GmbH grew and was renamed KESLAR GmbH Energiehandel. In May 2009 KESLAR opened the first AVIA Xpress or card filling station in Oy-Mittelberg. In autumn 2009 the starting shot was given for the start of the “line-based energies” business area. Since November 2009, very favorable natural gas and electricity tariffs have been offered in the Allgäu region, which enable steady, adequate linear growth.

The concept of the machine stations worked. In February 2010, the AVIA Xpress followed in Kaufbeuren, the second card filling station that can be accessed around the clock. In addition to the AVIA fleet card from KESLAR, EC, DKV and UTA and other fleet cards are also accepted at this petrol station . In the course of 2011, two further AVIA Xpress card filling stations were opened in Seeg and Riezlern . The vehicle fleet was outsourced to an independent logistics company, Allgäu-Energie-Logistik GmbH, which will later be reintegrated as a subsidiary.

As the first company in the Allgäu, KESLAR GmbH has been offering "climate-neutral" heating oil and natural gas since 2011. Here, the harmful carbon dioxide emissions caused by burning fossil materials are offset by funding projects in industrialized and emerging countries to reduce emissions.

In 2012 the management was expanded with Andreas Hausmann. Roland Wintergerst - as head of the wood fuel division - joined the company in 2013 and is gradually expanding the wood pellet and wood fuel division .

In 2015 the company Greiner, Lubricants from Memmingen was integrated. For occupational safety and cylinder gas and chemical products, the KLG cooperation company has meanwhile been founded as a 100% subsidiary of KESLAR GmbH. In the same year, the liquefied gas business area begins. The technical area under the direction of Walter Schwarzmann is becoming increasingly important. The company is now also a specialist company according to § 19 WHG. The technical department was expanded and the KESLAR company became a competent contact for the construction and installation of tank and liquid gas systems.

In 2018, the company purchased its own liquefied gas train, and in the following year, planning started for the tenth AVIA Xpress filling station, which should be ready by the end of 2021. Since January 1, 2020, KESLAR GmbH has taken over the energy business of Bantleon GmbH with a rented tank farm and a competent energy sales team in a branch in Ulm with an affiliated sales agency in Crimmitschau.
