Ketil Kjenseth (born August 13, 1968 in Lillehammer ) is a Norwegian politician of the socially liberal Venstre . He has been a member of parliament in Storting since 2013 .

Life

After graduating from secondary school, Kjenseth studied at a teacher training college from 1989 to 1992. He then worked as a teacher until 1998. He then worked until 2001 in the party headquarters of the Venstre party as economic and administrative secretary. Between 2002 and 2005 he was assistant general secretary of the party and from 2006 to 2009 he acted as political advisor to the Venstre faction in the Storting national parliament . Kenseth worked from 2010 to 2013 as a project manager at the Norsk Vann interest group . From 1999 to 2013, Kjenseth sat in Gjøvik's municipal parliament .

Kjenseth moved into the Storting for the first time in the 2013 parliamentary elections . There he represents the constituency of Oppland and he became a member of the Health and Welfare Committee. After the 2017 election , he moved to the Energy and Environment Committee and took over its chairmanship in February 2018. In March 2020 he also became part of the parliamentary group's executive committee. In May 2020 he declared that he did not want to run for a seat in parliament again in the 2021 Storting election.

Kjenseth was married to Ragnar Skjøld, an organ transplant activist, until his death in 2018.

Positions

On May 26, 2020, he said he had voted against his party's line and in favor of the legalization of egg donation and the right of single women to artificial insemination in a storting vote.
