Kevin Hansen (born August 13, 1979 in Hamburg ) is a German football player .

Athletic career

Kevin Hansen began his professional career in the 2001/02 season with Hansa Rostock in the Bundesliga . On the last day of the season, in the away game against FC Bayern Munich , he was substituted on in the 70th minute. Just twelve minutes later, Hansen scored his first Bundesliga goal. In the following season, Hansen was used eight times. In the 2003/04 and 2004/05 seasons he was repeatedly thrown back by injuries and did not play for the first team for two years.

For the 2005/06 season, the second division FC Erzgebirge Aue wanted to commit him. He had completed the preparation with the Erzgebirge, but injured himself again during a test, which reversed his commitment. The FC Hansa Rostock, who was relegated in the 2004/05 season, offered him a new contract. In the coming second division season, Hansen was on the pitch twelve times and scored two goals. In 2006/07 he rose again to the 1st Bundesliga with Hansa Rostock and contributed to this with six appearances.

After the rise, Hansa did not renew his contract. Hansen then stayed in the 2nd Bundesliga and, as planned two years earlier, moved to FC Erzgebirge Aue . Due to injuries, however, he was not used in the Ore Mountains, so that he had to end his career as a competitive athlete only a year later.

Hansen then returned to his northern German homeland and has since played for the Hamburg regional division Hamm United FC .

Convicted of aiding and abetting drug trafficking

On April 14, 2010 it became known that Kevin Hansen was considered a co-suspect in the context of the largest drug discovery to date in the Federal Republic of Germany and had been taken into custody. In August 2010, charges were brought against Hansen, who had already been released from pretrial detention at this point, because he had stored the funds necessary to handle the drug smuggling in his apartment and was therefore accused of aiding and abetting. In early 2011, Hansen was finally sentenced to two and a half years in prison for this aiding in drug trafficking.

After the end of his prison term, Hansen began retraining as an office clerk.
