Kevin Rittberger

Kevin Rittberger (* 1977 in Stuttgart ) is a German theater director and author .

Life

Rittberger studied modern German literature, journalism and communication studies at the Free University of Berlin .

Since 2004 working as curator, editor and translator as well as director and author of adaptations and own plays at the following theaters: State Theater Stuttgart , Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg , Schauspielhaus Wien , Schauspiel Frankfurt , Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus , Residenztheater Munich , Deutsches Theater Berlin , theater and orchestra Heidelberg and Maxim-Gorki-Theater . For his productions "The Abolition of Species" (Dietmar Dath) at the Deutsches Theater Berlin and "Messages from the ideological antiquity" (based on Alexander Kluge) at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg, Rittberger was awarded the Kurt Huebner Director's Prize.

His production of Die Marquise von O .... based on Heinrich von Kleist and that of Rittberger's own play "Don't let yourself be looped around 150,000,000!", Both at the Schauspiel Frankfurt, were invited to the Ruhr Festival in Recklinghausen. For the Schauspielhaus Wien he wrote "Kassandra or The World as the End of the Performance" (world premiere: Felicitas Brucker) and was thus nominated in 2011 for the Mülheim Dramatist Prize.
