Khaled Ali ( Arabic خالد علي, DMG Ḫālid ʿAlī ; Born February 26, 1972 in Daqahlia , Egypt ) is an Egyptian lawyer and political activist.

Life

Khaled Ali has seven siblings, three sisters and four brothers. He is the second oldest son. He attended elementary and middle school in his home village. In 1990 he started his studies at the Law Faculty of the University of Zagazig and graduated in 1996.

Khaled Ali lives in Cairo . As a lawyer, he has been supporting workers' concerns since 1995 and is active against nationwide corruption . In 2009 he founded the Egyptian Center for Economic and Social Rights (ECESR). He is also a founding member and executive director of the Hisham Mubarak Legal Center (HMLC).

When he ran for the presidential election in Egypt in 2012 , he received 134,056 votes and 0.58% of the vote. Ali has not yet joined any party.
