Khalida Khalaf Hanna al-Twal ( Arabic خالدة خلف حنا الطوال, DMG Ḫālida Ḫalaf Ḥannā aṭ-Ṭiwāl ) is a Jordanian police officer. She is a colonel and chief of the women's police in the Public Security Directorate. As a member of the Jordanian National Commission for Women (JNCW), she is involved in shaping the country 's women's policy and in implementing the Jordanian National Action Plan for Women, Peace and Security (JONAP). She received the United States Department of State's International Women of Courage Award in 2019 .

Commitment and honor

On March 7, 2019, Khalida Khalaf Hanna al-Twal was the second Jordanian woman to receive the “International Women of Courage Award” after human rights activist Eva Abu Halaweh . Among the ten winners of the year were women from Bangladesh , Djibouti and Montenegro . The award was presented to them by Melania Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo .
