Khold is a Norwegian black metal band that emerged from the black metal band Tulus . The band has little presence in the public and in the specialist press, the band members are taciturn and Khold rarely played live.
history
Her first album Masterpiss of Pain came out in April 2001 on the Moonfog label . Founding member Lars Eikind later played in Before the Dawn . In May 2006, Khold announced that the band would take an indefinite break and that the members would initially only devote themselves to other projects. Sarke and Gard will revive their Tulus project, which ended before Khold was founded.
In 2008 the album Hundre År Gammal was released
In 2011 the band performed at the Wacken Open Air and Aurora Infernalis Festival.
In 2015 the band played again at Wacken Open Air .
style
Since the first of the four albums, the style of Khold can be described as old school Black Metal and in the style of bands like Darkthrone , who only comes up with Norwegian lyrics, those of monotonous, deep and hard guitar riffs, one that is often clean Bass and the slow drumming are supported by drummer Sarke. Keyboards and modern technical aids such as samplers and synthesizers are not used at Khold, one relies on the effect of simple song structures that get by with a few chords .
In contrast to other "old-school black metal" bands, Satanism and paganism as well as explicit rejection of Christianity are not part of Khold's lyrics, which are less about nature and people, but more often about death, pain, and despair in general about emotional ones Report abysses and create a depressed and negative mood in the listener through high atmospheric density. Because of this, the band is not considered Black Metal by parts of the scene.
