The Khuddam ul-Ahmadiyya ( Urdu خدام الاحمدیہ 'Servants of the Ahmadiyyat' or Ahmadiyya Youth ) is the youth organization of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat KdöR . It was founded on February 4, 1938 by Mirza Baschir ud-Din Mahmud Ahmad , the second Khalifat ul-Massih of the religious community, and has existed in Germany since 1973 with Hamburg as the first regional association. Since 2013, the youth organization has been legally active as a non-profit, registered association based in Frankfurt.

Structure and leadership

Every male Ahmadi up to the age of 40 is a member. Members up to the age of 15 are called Atfal . Khuddam ul-Ahmadiyya literally means something like "servant of the Ahmadiyyat". Correspondingly translated, “Khadim” (singular of Khuddam) means “(young) servant”. From the age of 40 you automatically become a member of Ansarullah .

The Khuddam ul-Ahmadiyya is headed in the individual countries by the respective national "Sadr Majlis" (President) and is divided into several departments (Schobas) such as education, religious upbringing and finance, etc. For all departments as well as for many processes there are fixed specifications in a “Laih-e-Amal” (guideline) and are necessary for basic tasks. For a long time, all national sections were subject to Khuddam ul-Ahmadiyya in Pakistan, until the caliph decentralized the sub-organization in a Friday address in 1989 and assigned it to the respective national section of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

The Khuddam ul-Ahmadiyya Germany e. V. has around 10,000 members (Khuddam) in 24 regions with over 240 majalis (local communities) whose territorial boundaries are determined by Khuddam ul-Ahmadiyya according to their own needs. All departments of Khuddam ul-Ahmadiyya are reflected both in the regions and in the Majlis. These also carry out activities according to the Laih-e-Amal, information from the headquarters and according to their needs. The Majlis is led by the respective Qaid (leader), who is proposed beforehand to the national Sadr after a Qaid election and who is also confirmed as a Qaid by him. A similar body also exists in the regions and zones, but is only responsible for supporting the Majlis and for implementing regional programs. The seat of the Khuddam ul-Ahmadiyya is in Frankfurt and the building of the Khuddam ul-Ahmadiyya is called "Ewan-e-Khidmat" (House of Services).

Events

The Majlis Khuddam ul-Ahmadiyya (MKA) organizes various types of events, including the National Ijtema, Regional Ijtema, Tarbiyyat Camps, interreligious dialogues and events that serve the social engagement of its members. The Khuddams should be trained in such a way that they selflessly benefit society and other people.

National Ijtema

The largest gathering of the Khuddam ul-Ahmadiyya is the annual National Ijtema (also Salana Ijtema). The national Ijtema was first held in Germany in 1980 and is currently taking place at the KMK exhibition center in Karlsruhe . All young members of the congregation meet for three days in order to develop spiritually and to compete in various competitions of a sporting and intellectual nature.

Education and business fair

Every year an educational and business fair is organized in the Karlsruhe exhibition hall together with the National Ijtema and companies, self-employed, students and schoolchildren are invited. At this information event, commercial enterprises from Germany, the Khuddam, provide information about study and training opportunities.

social commitment

Together with the NGO Humanity First , Khuddam ul-Ahmadiyya helps with natural disasters and humane projects in Germany and abroad. But she is also self-employed and organizes visits to old people's homes to facilitate understanding between the generations and also provides voluntary help, for example cleaning the streets after the New Year's Eve festival.

The Khuddam ul-Ahmadiyya Germany organizes charity runs in various cities in Germany under the name Charity Walk and Run . A first charity walk and run was started in 1985 by the youth organization of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat in London. Following this example, the first charity run was carried out in Germany in 2007 in Koblenz, and later in Wiesbaden, Bremen and Offenbach am Main. The proceeds from these runs are donated to local children's charities. In 2012/2013, Charity Walk & Run Wiesbaden was one of 25 finalists in the startsocial competition and was honored at the Federal Chancellery. The motto of the charity run is "running, meeting, helping" and is financed exclusively through sponsorship money and donations.

blood donation

The Khuddam ul-Ahmadiyya Germany e. V. regularly calls its members and fellow citizens for blood donation and has an initiative under the name since 2012 Muslims donate blood started. Several blood donation campaigns are organized annually with the DRK blood donation service in order to motivate Muslims in particular to donate blood and to bring them closer to the need for blood donation. Mainly large blood donation campaigns are held in the Hamburg Bait-ur-Rasheed Mosque, in Baitus Sabuh Frankfurt and in the Berlin Khadija Mosque .

New year cleaning

Since 1998, the MKA has been organizing voluntary and free cleaning campaigns across Germany on New Years to free the streets of New Year's Eve. According to the press, around 4,000 members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community take part in the New Year's cleaning, which is carried out in 225 localities in Germany at the same time. According to AMJ, the following verse of the Holy Qur'an is in the foreground: "Allah commands justice and unselfishly to do good." ( Sura 16 : verse 91)

Generation meeting

At the meeting of generations , children and young people of the Ahmadiyya community go to retirement homes to make the elderly happy. With the motto 'young meets old', an encounter between young people and seniors is made possible. The generation meeting has been taking place in various locations in Germany since 1997.
