Khurai is a city in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh . The city is located in the northern part of the state.

The city is part of the Sagar district . Khurai has the status of a Municipal Council . The city is divided into 27 wards . On the cut-off date of the 2011 census it had 51,108 inhabitants, of which 26,649 were men and 24,459 women. Hindus make up the majority of the city's population with a share of over 83%. The literacy rate in 2011 was 83.16%, well above the national average.

The main industry in the region around Khurai is agriculture. The main crops grown here are wheat, rice and soy. The city is also a hub for trading in agricultural implements that are manufactured here.

The city is connected to the rest of the country by a train station.
