Kids to life

kids to life (also: Anton Schrobenhauser Foundation “Kids to Life” ) is a foundation that supports disadvantaged children and young people who are on the fringes of society on a national and international level. The foundation's child and youth welfare center with its extensive grounds is intended to give children space to develop and is used by numerous organizations. The foundation was established in 2003 by the building contractor and former German soccer goalkeeper Anton Schrobenhauser .

The heart of the national work is the educational child and youth welfare center of kids to life in Unterhaching near Munich. Every year over 4,000 children take part in educational workshops and leisure activities on 16,000 m² (with a petting zoo, go-kart track, climbing garden, swimming lake, soccer field and two overnight accommodations). The former leisure area is used as an educational and therapeutic facility by numerous organizations - including children's homes in Munich , the Technical University of Munich and other institutions. The children and adolescents should be given joie de vivre, security and space for self-development, as well as the opportunity to process their traumatic experiences through violence, displacement or war together.

Since 2016 there has been a cooperation with the youth performance center of SpVgg Unterhaching . The Foundation also supports kids to life the project value space, an interactive integration program for the teaching of values for permanently entitled to stay children with immigrant backgrounds 6-10 years. In the course of the refugee crisis , the foundation became increasingly involved in the field of refugee aid , in particular through football camps for unaccompanied minor refugee children and children in homes .

At the international level, the foundation supports young people in need in refugee countries and crisis regions. This includes the delivery of survival parcels in crisis regions: every year, more than 4,000 parcels (filled with basic food such as rice, flour, noodles, porridge, corn, and clothing in winter) are distributed to children in Syria .

The foundation's ambassadors are Mario Götze , Stefan Marquard , Matthias Sammer , Wookie Mayer , Susi Erdmann and Martin Gruber . The DFL Foundation supports the work of kids to life.

The foundation is maintained with the help of its prominent sponsors and specific donations in kind.

The foundation's activities have been reported in regional media and on regional pages of national media.

Award

  • kids to life was awarded Germany - Land of Ideas in 2012. The foundation received the award primarily for its sustained commitment to social problems in the immediate vicinity.

Anecdotes

Stefan Bruckner, who advises the foundation on the external presentation, reported that Uli Hoeneß regularly donated the grilled sausages for the campfire.
