Killiit ( Danish Vester Ejland ) is a small group of islands in the municipality of Qeqertalik in Greenland . It is located in Baffin Bay , which in turn belongs to the Atlantic Ocean .
geography
The archipelago is about 30 km from Aasiaat , the capital of the district of the same name . The largest island (760,000 m²) has the same name as the archipelago Killiit . There are also the much smaller islands (listed clockwise) Ikkarlu (in the northwest), Alanngorliit (group of three unnamed islands in the north), Kukkaq (in the northeast), Appaliarsuit (group of two unnamed islands in the southeast), Qeqertaq (in the south ) and Nasaq (group of ten islands). To Nasaq include Ulamertoq , Upernavik and Tunoqqusaaq . The remaining islands are unnamed. Between Nasaq and the main island of Killiit is the approx. 1 km long Qassi bay .
