The Killik River is a 169 km long right tributary of the Colville River in northern Alaska .
It arises 84 km southwest of Umiat from the confluence of April Creek and Kakivilak Creek in the Brooks range directly on the continental divide . The upper reaches are in the Gates of the Arctic National Park . It flows in a northerly direction and flows 6 km northeast of the Oolamnagavik River into the Colville River , which flows through the North Slope to the Arctic Ocean . The Killik River is one of many rivers and streams that feed the Colville River from the northern Brooks range.
The river's name first appeared in 1885 in the records of a Native from Barrow to. WJ Peters and FC Schrader from the United States Geological Survey documented the name in 1901. Today's pronunciation is "Kitlik". The indigenous people who lived in the valley of the river are known as Kitlikmiut.
