Killl was a Norwegian metal band. Since their formation in 2003, Killl had not released any phonograms, as the band's concept was exclusively live performances with a strong and inseparable visual element. It was not until 2011 that a DVD / CD set of live recordings was released as a debut .

history

The band was formed in 2003 for a solo appearance at Ultima Oslo , the largest Norwegian festival for contemporary music. She developed her repertoire within 3 days, it was only intended for live performances from the start. After the first concert, requests for further performances followed, which is why the band stayed and expanded their program, especially visually. Later they did not perform without their lighting technician. The band made guest appearances in the Electroacoustic Salon of the Berghain and at the Donaufestival , but despite some success the band remained a side project of the musicians involved.

In 2012 the band gave a few more concerts, released a live LP and then broke up.

Style and reception

The band called their style "stroboscopic avant metal", influences are the styles that each of the members brought with them from "their" musical style, namely metal, extreme electronic music and hardcore punk (the members come from bands like JR Ewing , Jaga Jazzist , No Place To Hide and Single Unit ). The German Spex described her style as alternating between noise , speed and black metal .

Rock-a-Rolla spoke of “convulsive performances”, while Spex summed up that the “concerts were visually and acoustically equivalent to a thunderstorm”, with these they would “walk the fine line between the cutting precision of digital sound processing and the stage force of speed, thrash -Metal and Noise strive for maximum physical overwhelm ”.
