Killy (rapper)
Killy (born August 19, 1997 in Toronto , Ontario ; real name Khalil Tatem ), stylized as KILLY , is a Canadian rapper.
life and career
Tatem was born in Toronto , Ontario in August 1997 . His parents are from the Philippines and Barbados . He lived in Toronto until he was eight years old before moving to Victoria , British Columbia with his family . He played soccer and came into contact with music. In his late teens he moved back to Toronto, where he took music more seriously. In 2016 he released his first song, Big Bux, on Soundcloud . In February 2017, Tatem released Killamonjaro as a debut single. The single didn't enter the charts, but was awarded a gold record by Music Canada in March 2018 . His first studio album, Surrender Your Soul , was released 11 months later. With the album he reached the top 20 of the Canadian album charts. The only single from the album No Sad No Bad reached number 65 on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100. His first EP Killstreak was released in September 2018 and reached the top 30 on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100.
Live performances
Killy performed at the Rolling Loud Festival in 2019. He also performed at the O 2 Forum Kentish Town in London in 2018 , where Juice WRLD and Lil Mosey were also represented.
