Kilmokit was a three-piece Austrian boy band . It was put together at the end of 2011 as part of the first Austrian season of the talent show Popstars .
history
Foundation with pop stars
Under the motto Mission Austria , the talent show Popstars took place in Austria for the first time in autumn 2011. The jury consisted of the choreographer Detlef Soost and the singer Fernanda Brandão .
After the end of a casting round, it was decided at the recall which of the 50 candidates would move into the band house in Biberwier . The jury decided on ten participants. Here the candidates were taught by vocal coach Kate Hall and dance trainer Anna Demel. In contrast to the seasons in other countries, the two bands Kilmokit and BFF were founded and temporarily occupied at the beginning of the band house phase . The participants who did not join the band then appeared as so-called challengers and fought for a place in the band in vocal duels. The jury had eight exchange options for both bands.
In the final on December 4, 2011, Kilmokit prevailed against the girl group BFF in a televoting.
Record deal
By winning at Popstars, the members of the band obtain a label contract with Sony Music Austria in the amount of 100,000 euros. Her first album, called Atemlos, has been available since December 5th . The album reached number 40 in the Austrian charts.
In March the fans could determine which song would be the second single. The choices were Back to You and Sparks , the latter won the decision. Funkenregen was then only released as a radio single.
In February 2013 the band had their last performance date so far. Since April 2013 the band members have been devoting themselves to new projects. So Patrick Freystätter founded the band Yuno , with whom he released the single Now You're Here at the beginning of May . In 2015, like Florian Schindler, he took part in Deutschland sucht den Superstar . However, both were eliminated in the recall. Chris Aguilar is currently the lead singer of the Corcovado Salsa Club and regularly appears in English theater musicals.
