Kim Chang-ho

Kim Chang-ho ( kor .: 김창호 ; * 1969 in Yecheon , Gyeongsangbuk-do , South Korea ; † October 13, 2018 in Gurja Himal at 3500 m altitude, Himalaya , Nepal ) was a South Korean high altitude climber . He has climbed all eight-thousanders without the help of bottled oxygen, making him the fourteenth person and the first South Korean to do so. In addition, with a time span of only 7 years, 11 months and 6 days, he undercut the previous record set by Poland's Jerzy Kukuczka in 1987.

Kim died on October 13, 2018 along with four other South Koreans and four Nepalese porters in the Himalayas .
