Kim Jae-shin ( Korean 김재신 ) (born May 30, 1957 in Jeonju ) is a South Korean diplomat .

Life

He studied political science and international relations at Korea University in Seoul . In 1980 he joined the South Korean diplomatic service. From 1984 to 1989 he was employed at the South Korean University in Tokyo in Japan . From 1989 to 1992 he worked at the embassy in Rangoon in Burma . He returned to Seoul and worked as chief secretary to Foreign Ministers Lee Sang-ock and Han Sung-joo , among others . Further assignments abroad took him to Washington, DC in the USA and to Beijing in China . From 2008 to 2010 he served as an advisor to President Lee Myung-bak . In August 2010, he became Deputy Minister for Political Affairs in the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Kim Jae-shin went to Germany as an ambassador in September 2012 . During his term of office, the visit of the South Korean President Park Geun-hye fell in the spring of 2014. He held his office until 2015. In 2015, he became his country's ambassador to the Philippines .

Kim Jae-shin is married to Lee Jongmin.
