Kim Jung-won

Kim Jung-won (born September 20, 1973 ) is a North Korean marathon runner .

In 1996, at the Pyongyang Marathon , he set the current national record with 2:10:50 h and at the same time set a course record that is still in place today. In 1998 he won the Beijing Marathon and in 1999 the Macau Marathon . In 2000 he finished second in the Pyongyang Marathon, which he won again in 2001.

At the marathon of the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta he finished 38th, and in 2000 in Sydney he came 29th.

He is married to Jong Song-ok , the 1999 world marathon champion.
