Kim Merritt

Kim Merritt (born May 22, 1955 ) is a former American marathon runner .

In 1975 she won the New York City Marathon in 2:46:14 h American champion. The following year she won the Boston Marathon , came second in the women's marathon organized by Ernst van Aaken in Waldniel and won the Honolulu Marathon .

In 1977 she won the Falmouth Road Race and the Oregon Track Club Marathon with the US record of 2:37:57 h and came second in New York City. In 1978 she was fourth in Boston and second in the Cleveland Marathon , in 1979 sixth in Boston and second in the Avon Marathon in Waldniel with her second-best time of 2:39:43.

She returned to racing for the US Trials marathon for the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles; her time of 2:43:31 was now only enough for 53rd place.

Kim Merritt studied at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside from 1973 to 1977 .
