Kim Ryholt

Kim Steven Bardrum Ryholt (born June 19, 1970 in New Jersey , United States ) is a US-American- Danish Egyptologist and since 2000 Associate Professor at the University of Copenhagen .

Life

Kim Ryholt began his studies at the University of Copenhagen , where he graduated in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts . He then went to Germany , where he studied at the Free University in Berlin in 1991 and at the Julius Maximilians University in Würzburg from 1992 to 1993 . In 1993 he obtained a Masters degree from the University of Copenhagen. 1994–1998 he was a research fellow. In 1998 he became an assistant professor at the University of Copenhagen, where he received his doctorate in 2000 and was appointed associate professor in the same year. Ryholt's research focuses onAncient Egyptian history and literature as well as cultural exchange and identity formation. He is the curator of the Papyrus Carlsberg Collection .
