Kim Winona
Kim Winona (born October 10, 1930 in Nebraska as Constance Elaine Mackey , † June 23, 1978 in Los Angeles ) was an American actress .
Life
Winona was a Sioux member of the North American Indians and grew up on an Indian reservation in South Dakota . She married and moved with her husband to Los Angeles , where she initially worked in an office. Due to her appearance, she soon received orders as a photo model , then she was invited to a film casting . The role went to another actress, but when the Roy Rogers production company was looking for an actress in 1955 to play a young Indian woman in the western series Big Eagle - Cheyenne Chief , she was remembered. At the side of Keith Larsen she played the role of Dawn for 24 episodes ; however, after the end of the first season, the series was discontinued. She then did not pursue her acting career any further.
Winona was married three times and had two children. She died in 1978 from self-inflicted gunshot wounds at the age of 47.
