Keith Larsen

Keith Larsen (born June 17, 1924 in Salt Lake City , Utah as Keith Eric Burt , † December 13, 2006 in Santa Barbara , California ) was an American actor , film producer , director and screenwriter .

Life

Larsen served in the United States Navy during World War II . After retiring from the Navy, he turned to acting and was cast after various local theater appearances for a small supporting role in the war film Steel Wings . Further war films followed with the company Seeadler and Sturmgeschwader Komet , after which he played primarily in westerns , albeit always in smaller roles.

From the mid-1950s, Larsen starred in various television series. However, none of his series got beyond the first season. He had his first series lead role as Bart Adams between 1954 and 1955 in the crime series The Hunter , which was discontinued after thirteen episodes. He then played the title role in the western series Great Eagle - Chief of the Cheyenne , which was not renewed in 1956 after 24 episodes. The series Northwest Passage , in which he played the historical character of Robert Rogers , and the adventure series The Aquanauts met the same fate. Larsen returned to film, where he also worked as a director, producer and screenwriter from 1968.

Larsen was married three times. His first wife was actress Susan Cummings in 1953 . He was married to Vera Miles between 1960 and 1971, and the marriage resulted in a son. He married his third wife in 1983, and this marriage resulted in another son.
