Kimberly Beck (born December 27, 1985 in Atlanta , Georgia , United States ) is an American basketball player . She currently plays for the Seattle Storm in the WNBA .

Career

College (2004 to 2008)

Beck studied at George Washington University from 2004 to 2008 . During this time she also played for the university's women's basketball team, the Colonials . In her freshman season, she averaged 5.1 assists and 8 points per game. With this good performance, she was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year. She was nominated for the United States U-19 national basketball team.

In her sophomore season, Beck averaged 5.5 assists and 11.4 points per game. She was also able to improve her behavior on the defensive, which earned her a nomination for the All-Atlantic 10 All-Defensive Team. Beck was also elected to the All-Atlantic 10 First Team for the first time.

In her junior season, with an average of 5.3 assists and 11.3 points per game, she kept about her average from the previous season. At the end of that season, she was re-elected to the All-Atlantic 10 All-Defensive Team and All-Atlantic 10 First Team. Because of her repeated good defensive performance, she was also voted Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year.

In her senior season, she was named Atlantic 10's Player of the Year with an average of 12.8 points and 6.2 assists per game.

Beck was in the starting line-up of the Colonials in all 128 games.

WNBA (since 2008)

Beck was selected in the WNBA Draft 2008 by the Seattle Storm in the third round and in the 36th place overall. First, Beck was invited to the Storm training camp. On May 16, 2008, she was finally officially included in the Storm squad. In her first season for the Storm, she was initially the substitute for Star Point Guard Sue Bird . After she had completed a total of 15 games for the Storm, her contract was terminated on June 28, 2008. But on September 11, 2008 she was signed by the Storm for the rest of the season. As a result, she came back for the Storm in the last two games of the regular season, as well as in the playoffs. On January 7th, Storm head coach Brian Agler announced that Beck had been added to the roster for the 2009 training camp.
