King City (Ontario)

King City is a Canadian parish in King , Ontario , north of Toronto . King City is the largest parish in King with 2,396 apartments and a population of 6,970 (2016). King City does not have its own parish council, it is administered by the King Parish.

history

In 1836, a Springhill-style settlement was established in King. With the arrival of the Ontario, Simcoe, and Huron railroad in 1853, the settlement began to expand. In 1890, James City was incorporated into the Reeve of King Parish, James Whiting Crossley, by merging the hamlets of Springhill, Kinghorn, Laskay and Eversley.

King City is characterized by rolling hills and temperate forests in the lowland forest ecoregion of the Eastern Great Lakes. Numerous kettle lakes and ponds characterize the area. Numerous stables and other farms were built on the community's 147,938 square kilometers of land.
