King King is a British blues rock band.

history

King King first performed live in 2008. The name "King King" is the name of the only album by The Red Devils that guitarist Alan Nimmo raved about; this album was recorded live in 1991 at the "King King" club in Los Angeles.

In 2011 King King's debut album Take My Hand was released , which received the award for best album at the British Blues Awards 2012. Her second album Standing in the Shadows , released in 2013, received the same award in 2014. The band itself was voted the best British blues band three times in a row from 2012 to 2014 and was thus inducted into the British Blues Awards Hall of Fame.

In Germany, the band became known through their appearance at the WDR Rockpalast Crossroads Festival 2014. In 2015 her third album Reaching for the Light came out.

In 2016 the band received three British Blues Awards: for the album Reaching for the Light , for the song Rush Hour and the "Kevin Thorpe Award For Songwriter of the Year".

In 2018 King King also received several awards at the newly created UK Blues Awards : in the category “Blues Band of the Year” and for the album Exile & Grace from 2017; Alan Nimmo also won the "Blues Songwriter of the Year" category.
