Duty free shop in Macau Airport

King Power is a Thai operator of duty free shops. King Power has, among other things, concessions to operate all retail spaces in Thailand's largest airport, Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, and has a quasi-monopoly here within Thailand. In 2009 King Power was appointed purveyor to the royal court. Since then, a Garuda statue, which was bestowed on the company as a royal insignia, has stood in front of the company's headquarters . With the purchase of a 39% stake in the Thai airline Thai AirAsia in 2016, King Power became the airline's second largest shareholder. In April 2018, King Power bought large parts of the Maha Nakhon building in Bangkok, including the observation deck. The transaction was valued at around 14 billion baht (~ 360 million euros (exchange rate: April 2018)). Associated with her was the takeover of the naming rights to the skyscraper, which was then renamed King Power MahaNakhon.

The company acts as a sponsor of polo and is the shirt and stadium sponsor of the English first division soccer club Leicester City , which was owned by the company's founder Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha . On October 27, 2018, Srivaddhanaprabha's helicopter crashed near King Power Stadium . Srivaddhanaprabha and four other people were killed in the accident.
