Coordinates: 36 ° 50 ′  S , 139 ° 51 ′  E The Kingston District Council is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of South Australia . The area is 3338 km² and has about 2350 inhabitants (2016).

Kingston is located in the southeast of South Australia about 150 miles southeast of the metropolis of Adelaide . The area includes 13 hamlets and villages: Blackford, Bowaka, Cape Jaffa, Keilira, Kingston SE , Marcollat, Mount Benson, Port Caroline, Reedy Creek, Rosetown, Taratap, Tilley Swamp and Wangolina. The administrative headquarters of the council is in Kingston SE on the southern coastline of the LGA, where about 1650 inhabitants live (2016).

The Kingston Council has eleven members, ten councilors are elected by the residents of the four wards (four from Kingston and two each from Blackford, Watervalley and Woolmit Ward). These four districts are determined independently of the districts. The council chairman and mayor is also elected by all residents of the district.
