The Kinnaur Kailash ( Hindi किन्‍नर कैलाश , local name: Kinner Kailash ) is a mountain in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh .

The 6032  m (according to other sources 6050 m) high mountain is located in the western Himalayas in the Kinnaur district north of the Sangla valley and east of the town of Kalpa in the Satluj valley . It is considered a sanctuary for Buddhists and Hinduists . The Kinnaur Kailash is considered the winter residence of the god Shiva . A 24 m high summit rock crowns the mountain. 5.5 km northwest of Kinnaur Kailash is the 6,473 m high Jorkanden .
