Kintampo is a city in the Bono East region in the West African state of Ghana . Kintampo was the capital of the former Kintampo District and is now the capital of the Kintampo North District , which was re-divided in 2004 .

Kintampo has become known as the archaeological site of an ancient West African culture, the Kintampo culture .

Kintampo is home to a University for Development Studies campus with the Faculty of Agriculture.

In Kintampo, Ghana Commercial Bank Ltd. a branch opens as well as the Kintampo Rural Bank .
