Kira Princess of Prussia (actually Kira Auguste Viktoria Friederike ; born June 27, 1943 in Cadinen ; † January 10, 2004 in Berlin ) was the second eldest daughter of Louis Ferdinand of Prussia (1907-1994) and his wife, the former Russian Grand Duchess Kira Kirillovna (1909-1967).

Life

Kira was involved in various foundations - u. a. especially the Princess Kira von Preussen Foundation founded by her parents and named after her mother  - and the help from Russia.

After his death, she took over his father's seat on the board of trustees of the Kissinger Sommer music festival in Bad Kissingen .

From 1973 until the divorce in 1984 she was married to the American Thomas Frank Liepsner. The marriage resulted in a daughter, Kira Marina, born in 1977.

In the last year of her life, she founded the Kira Princess of Prussia Music and Culture Foundation .

She was the patron of the Berlin project Children against violence against children .

The urns Kira of Prussia and their parents are in the Russian Orthodox Resurrection Chapel of the Hohenzollern castle buried. The funeral service took place in the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church in Berlin.
