The village church Ahrensfelde is a Protestant church in Ahrensfelde . The church belongs to the parish Ahrensfelde-Mehrow in the parish of Berlin North-East of the Berlin district of the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia .

history

The history of the Ahrensfeld church began before 1375. In the first mention of Ahrensfeld in 1375 in the land book of Charles IV as Arnsfelt, a church was already mentioned that was a simple hall built in the 14th century. After this previous building was demolished, the current church was built in 1768. Arched windows structure the elongated plastered building. A tower structure has been rising in the west since 1875/1876, the square floor plan of which merges into an octagon covered with a copper tip. During this time, the nave was extended by about seven meters to the east and the sacristy was added. The nave has a gable roof with beaver tail covering. Inside the building is the gallery built in the late 18th century on the west side.

Furnishing

Altarpiece

The altarpiece from the 16th century shows the crucifixion of Jesus ( Joh 19,17-29  LUT ) flanked by two other convicts. Often they are called robbers ( Mt 27,33-44  LUT ) or evildoers ( Lk 23,33-43  LUT ). Under the cross are Mary and the apostle John , whom tradition identifies with the author of the Gospel according to John and the “favorite disciple” ( John 19.26  LUT ). Above Jesus is the inscription: INRI IESUS NAZARENUS REX IUDAEORUM Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews.

Galston Cross

The altar cross is a gift from the partner church in Galston, Scotland .

organ

The organ was manufactured by the Walker company in 1965.

Bells

The Ahrensfeld church has three hard cast iron bells. They were cast in 1956 in the Schilling & Lattermann bell foundry in Morgenröthe-Rautenkranz. The bells have the following tones: b 1 , des 2 , es 2 .
