Leistenow Church

The Leistenow Church , also known as the Leistenow Chapel , is a church building in the Leistenow district of the Utzedel municipality in the Mecklenburg Lake District . It belongs to the parish Beggerow in the Demmin provost of the Pomeranian parish.

The church is a rectangular plastered building made of field stone with a semicircular end to the east. It was built, probably around 1700, as a daughter of the Beggerow Church. The church patronage originally had the Sarov landowners. In 1955 the building was restored.

The church stalls , the gallery and the altarpiece date from the middle of the 18th century. The altar painting depicting the crucifixion of Christ was made around 1850.

The bell is in a free-standing belfry in the churchyard. It was cast by F. Schünemann in Demmin in 1859 .
