Loickenzin Church

The Loickenzin Church is a half-timbered church in Loickenzin, a locality of Altentreptow in the Mecklenburg Lake District . It was built in the 17th century and belongs to the Protestant parish of Klatzow in the Demmin provost in the Pomeranian Evangelical Church District .

history

The place Loickenzin belonged to Verchen monastery until 1575 . After that the church was a branch church of Klatzow . The present church was rebuilt or rebuilt after the Thirty Years War, the wooden tower was added around 1700.

Architecture and interior design

The church is a rectangular half-timbered building with a south porch and a west tower clad with boards.

It is flat on the inside. The altarpiece from 1693 shows the crucifixion in the middle, the last supper in the predella and the resurrection in the upper part. The pulpit with a sound cover is decorated with depictions of the four evangelists from the late 17th century, their entrance with the apostles Peter and Paul. The west gallery is adorned with six biblical scenes as peasant paintings from this period. The choir stalls and the parish stalls are also from the 17th century.

The organ was built in 1893 by Barnim Grüneberg from Stettin as Opus 356. The bell in the tower consists of two bells, one of which was cast in 1573.
