history
After workers from Bavaria , Poland and Silesia had settled in Rositz due to the flourishing of industry , who were predominantly Roman Catholics, the pastor Riedel founded the Catholic "Workers' Association St. Josef" on July 30, 1893, from which on September 2 1900 the Catholic School Association e. V. was created. By 1900 the Catholic parish already had 630 believers. On May 20, 1902, the inauguration of the newly built church could take place. The Catholic workers' association St. Josef donated the bell tower. In 1904 the church received a mechanical organ from the Bautzner company Eule .
Furnishing
The neo-Gothic carved altar was correctly relocated to Kriebitzsch during World War II due to bombing raids . The stage of the hall was completely destroyed by air raids. Valuable things got lost. In 1960 the sanctuary was restored. A steel girder construction was installed under the gallery for stabilization.
In 1961 the entire nave was rebuilt . Artists figuratively designed the room with ecclesiastical motifs. The roof was re-covered so that 700 Catholics can freely use the church.
