Church of the Provincial Insane Asylum Halle-Nietleben
The church of the provincial insane asylum Halle-Nietleben was built as part of the former Royal Prussian and later provincial insane asylum Halle-Nietleben, which was built between 1844 and 1857 in the western district of Heide-Süd of Halle (Saale) . This was one of the first modern psychiatric institutions in Germany.
The church itself was built in 1864 by Friedrich August Ritter and is very reminiscent of church buildings by Karl Friedrich Schinkel . Originally the church had a higher steeple with sound arcades and pointed helmet. This was however due to the construction of the aviator Horst's the Army and Air Force news school demolished after the 1935th
The now unused and ruined church has arched windows based on the Romanesque model and an octagonal, relatively low tower. There are still no concepts for the further use of the church.
An emergency backup took place in 2014.
Furnishing
The church had a 366-pound bell that read, "Glory to God on high." The first organ came from the Wäldner organ workshop. A Rühlmann organ followed later .
