Ramelow church ruins

The Ramelow church ruins are located in the Ramelow district of the city of Friedland (Mecklenburg) in the Mecklenburg Lake District .

Ramelow Church was built around the middle of the 13th century. It was a branch church of the Church of Salow . In 1883 the building was marked as a ruin on a measuring table.

The building was made of field stone . While the east gable is relatively well preserved, only low parts of the rising masonry of the nave have been preserved. With internal dimensions of 14.5 meters in length and 7.25 meters in width, the wall thickness is 1.25 meters. Romanesque shapes can be seen in the east gable , with the openings of the three-window group being modified to blunt pointed arches. The outer fronts of the double-walled walls were faced with stone blocks.
