Kirchhofkapelle (Westheim)
The churchyard chapel in Westheim ( Rosengarten community , Schwäbisch Hall district ) is a historic sacred building . It is located in the former cemetery next to the parish church of St. Martin .
The building was built around 1400 in the Gothic style on the foundations of an older chapel and has an almost quadrangular floor plan. The chancel has a cross vault with ribs. There are small, undivided pointed arch windows on the choir and in the nave . There is an ossuary in the basement . The decor includes the tombstone of a pastor Seiferheld († 1792) in the Rococo style .
After the cemetery was abandoned in 1838, the chapel fell into disrepair. It was restored from 1986 to 1988 and can now again be used for religious celebrations.
