Parish of Oelde

Parish Oelde was until 1969 a municipality in the district of Beckum in the Region of Münster in North Rhine-Westphalia . The community was one of the “parish communities” typical of Münsterland, which comprised the rural area around an urban church.

After the Napoleonic period in the Prussian province of Westphalia, the parish parish Oelde belonged to the Beckum district, which was founded in 1816 . In 1945 August Ost was appointed mayor of the municipality by the military government, and he served in this office for 11 years. On January 1, 1970, most of the community was incorporated into the city of Oelde. The rest of the community came to what was then the Herzebrock community in the Wiedenbrück district .
