Kirchstätt is a hamlet in the northern district of Traunstein (Bavaria).

history

The place was first mentioned in 1030 in a document from Emperor Conrad II as Chirchstetin . A burial mound field southeast of the place indicates a settlement in prehistoric times. The formerly independent municipality was dissolved on January 1, 1978 in the course of the municipal reorganization of Bavaria and incorporated into Schnaitsee .

The townscape is shaped by the Catholic Magdalenenkirche , the tower of which was probably built in the second half of the 12th century.
