Kirill Yuryevich Lavrov
Kirill Jurjewitsch Lavrov ( Russian Кирилл Юрьевич Лавров ; born September 15, 1925 in Leningrad , † April 27, 2007 in Saint Petersburg ) was a Russian theater and film actor.
life and work
Lavrov, the offspring of a family of actors, initially decided against an artistic career and sought a career at sea. During the Second World War he came into contact with the theater, whereupon he discovered his passion for the art of acting and decided to pursue this as his profession. He soon played various character roles at the Great Leningrad Theater, but also in film and television productions. In the course of his career, he did not commit to a specific genre and, in addition to comedies, played both historical and contemporary roles.
He gained fame above all as Sinzow in the literary adaptations of Konstantin Simonow in The Living and the Dead (1964) and in Man Isn't Born as a Soldier (1967), but also as Ivan Karamazov in the Fyodor Dostoyevsky film adaptation of The Karamazov Brothers ( 1969). In that film, after the death of film director Iwan Pyrjew , he took over the direction together with Mikhail Ulyanov and finished the internationally highly decorated literary adaptation. Another highlight of his film work is the role of Bashkirzew in Taming the Fire (1972), which brought him not only national but also international awards.
