The Kirkby Head is a cliff-like cape on the coast of Enderbylands in East Antarctica . It is located on the east side of the entrance to Alasheev Bay . On the south side it is almost completely covered by the continental ice shelf up to the top of the summit .

It was mapped using aerial photographs taken in 1956 as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions . It is named after the Australian geodesist Sydney Lorrimar Kirkby (* 1933), who visited the Cape in 1960.
