Kirsten Boettner

Kirsten Böttner (born May 13, 1963 in Bremen ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). From 1999 to March 2007 she was the political director of the Berlin regional association .

Life

Böttner began her political career in 1979 in the anti-nuclear movement . In 1983 she moved to Berlin to study journalism , Scandinavian studies and geography at the FU . During her studies she was a freelance journalist and co-editor of the Steglitz district newspaper “Kreisel”, and from 1984–85 she also worked for the “Nyksund” project - an international meeting place for young people in Northern Norway . From 1988 to 1999 she was managing director of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen in Steglitz , and since 1989 she has also been a member of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen. From 1999 to 2007 she was political director of the Berlin regional association. In December 2006 Böttner ran against the incumbent Steffi Lemke for the office of political manager of the federal party of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen at the federal delegate assembly in Cologne , losing 22.4 against 72.3%.

With a resolution dated February 24, 2007, the state party conference of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen in Berlin decided to amend the statutes, which abolished the office of political manager. According to his own statements, Böttner himself planned to run for this office again in the upcoming state board elections in March.
