Kirsten Zöllner (born August 2, 1981 in Hanover ) is a former German national basketball player .

Life

Zöllner started his sporting career at the age of 16 at the Turn Klub Hannover . In 2001, the 2.15 m center moved to the USA, where, in addition to his studies in the NCAA, he played first at Boston College and from 2003 to 2006 for the University of Albany . With Albany he reached the 2006 Eastern Conference championship. He then moved to the Greek second division AONS Milonas Athens for one season.

Since the 2007/08 season, Kirsten Zöllner was under contract with the German Bundesliga club Skyliners Frankfurt . He played an international match in the jersey of the German national basketball team . After he was often handicapped by injuries in his first season in Frankfurt and after a knee operation during the summer break he did not play a single role with the team in his second season, he ended his sports career in December 2008 due to cartilage damage in his right knee.
