Kisantu Cathedral

Kisantu is a city in the west of the Democratic Republic of the Congo with 77,797 inhabitants (as of 2010). It is located about 120 km south of the capital Kinshasa on the Inkisi River in the Congo Central province .
Kisantu is the seat of the Kisantu diocese . On the outskirts of the city is the Kisantu Cathedral, which was built by Belgian Jesuits in 1926. In 1900 they also laid out the botanical garden , which is the most important in Central Africa. After years of decline, it was rebuilt in 2004 and is now one of the major attractions of the DR Congo.
