Kit Hood

Kit Hood ( 1943 - January 19, 2020 in Nova Scotia ) was a Canadian TV director , writer and film producer .

Hood was an editor for Walt Disney Productions in London before moving to Canada in 1969. In the early 1970s he was active in editing TV commercials.

As a member of the Toronto Film Co-operative, he met Linda Schuyler and helped her make a film for the Toronto School about immigrant children. After the success of this project, Hood and Schuyler founded the production company “Spiel mit der Zeit”. They borrowed the name from their first documentary Jimmy - Spiel mit der Zeit (1979).

Schuyler later separated from Hood and founded the production company Epitome Pictures . In 1997, Hood directed the children's film Maddy Dances on the Moon . In this film, the then unknown Elisha Cuthbert had her first film role.
